Famous Faces in Linoprint

After working on multiple reduction prints of friends and family, portraying famous faces with a single reduction print was the next project. The idea was to use the minimalist contouring mark making style which had been developed in the portrait projects to illustrate faces which were recognisable. After creating a large lino-print of William and Kate after the proposal, famous dictators seemed like an interesting subject matter. The goal was to create portraits of both adored and despised figures using the bold aesthetic of the colour lino-cut process.
